Developer Advocates Robert Dowling and Pan Chasinga supported Aleph Hackathon's Filecoin track, which focused on privacy tools such as zero-knowledge proofs, decentralized identity, and other means for access control on Filecoin Network.

Storage Community

Join the monthly Asia-Pacific (APAC) Orbit community meeting with FF Community Manager Qing Warthen to share your thoughts and have conversations about the foremost topics in the Filecoin Storage Provider community. The meeting is hosted the first Monday of every month from 9 to 10 am ET for members of the Orbit community.

Governance

Filecoin core developers and Implementation teams have agreed to align around pre-scheduled network upgrades. You can find the proposed 2025 upgrade cycle in the Core Devs GitHub repository.
NV24 will be the final upgrade of 2024, with the calibnet upgrade landing on September 26, and the main upgrade arriving on October 30. Visit Metropolis to help name it!
FIP0081: Introduce Lower Bound for Sector Initial Pledge is in Last Call until September 4, 2024.

Fil Plus

The Fil Plus team is improving the process by which organizations request and receive an audit of DataCap distributions. Currently, requests for DataCap are batched and processed together. To better aid the community, the team is working to reduce this timeline to less than two weeks from the initial request to new DataCap being made available.
